Hotlanta

As my roommate Ray would say, “Oh, you are in Hotlanta”. My whirlwind tour of the South is slowly coming to an end. I have decided to skip Florida and finish off my trip in Birmingham, (Maybe Mississippi to play golf with Shawn), then on to Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, then finally in Houston for [...]

Georgia Pines? Savannah Oaks!

Well today after having myself an aweful day in the market, I went back to my hotel room and fell asleep for about 2 minutes. Then, the fire alarm went off. Thinking that maybe the hotel was on fire, I put on my shoes and grabbed my laptop. Everything else can burn…well, except for the [...]

Georgia On My Mind

Today, I left Raleigh and headed south to Savannah, GA. I had to get out of the cold weather or at least make an attempt to get warmer. Yesterday, Raleigh’s high was 44 F. The day before was absolutely beautiful. The wild swings just weren’t working for me anymore.
Let me update everyone on my stay [...]

Heading to Raleigh

Today I leave Greensboro and head to Raleigh. Only staying 2 nights in Raleigh and then I am going to try and go to Charlotte, provided I can get a room for a decent rate.
Yesterday, I pretty much relaxed all day. Ran some updates and scans on my computer and watched television. Last night, I [...]

Relaxing in Greensboro

I have slept so good over the past few nights. I think it is the bed in my hotel room. King-sized bed with four fluffy pillows. Yeah baby! Yesterday, I stayed in my hotel room for most of the morning watching CNBC and doing some online things. There is a free breakfast in my hotel. [...]

First in Flight State

I am now in the east-most state on my travels — North Carolina. I have to say that Tennessee was great (except for Memphis). Nashville was great. Gatlinburg was great. On my way to Greensboro, I stopped in Ashville. Everyone said I had to check out the Biltmore mansion. I took the exit and drove [...]

A Night in the Mountains

Wow did it get cold last night. About 25 F. That’s pretty cold. It did snow a little, but not much. There was only a 30% chance of that happening in Gatlinburg, TN. I stayed in this little River Lodge Hotel. It wasn’t bad. I am not sure if there are any bad places to [...]

Arrival in Gatlinburg

So I finally made it. There was a huge wreck in Knoxville that stalled me for about 1 hour. Apparently, there was an F-250 pulling a large RV that I guess jackknifed or something. Not entirely sure because as is with most wrecks that block all lanes, you never know what truly happened because it [...]

Goodbye to Nashville

Well it is now Monday and I realized I have not updated anything on here in a few days.
I stayed with my sister Colleen and her boyfriend Rocky for most of my time here in Nashville. We actually didn’t do much, but they did cook every chance they got. Let’s see, my first day there [...]

Nashville For a Few Days

Yesterday, I drove into Nashville, TN from Memphis. I decided to leave early because the weather was so bad and I didn’t know how slow the journey would be. I was able to move along at a pretty good clip, but once again I am truly amazed at how many trucks there were on I-40. [...]
